A sport of Cox’s Orange Pippin, with red flushed skin and the same firm, richly flavoured flesh. It was discovered at Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire, in 1953. Like Cox’s Orange Pippin, it needs care to crop well, disliking wet sites. It is used for eating, cooking and juicing, best picked mid-season and the fruit can be stored for up to 2 months.
